Mrs. W.W. Pugh, Jr., Civil War account, circa 1865.

An account of the Battle of Georgia Landing at Labadieville, Assumption Parish, La., Oct. 27, 1862, describes the attempt of Confederate forces to hold the advance of Union Gen. Godfrey Weitzel at Bayou Lafourche. Confederate troops were defeated and Colonel G. P. McPheeters was killed in the battle.
